Work + Personal rants

Assalamualaikum wrb

Dear Diary,

I hope everyone was not alarmed/worried by my previous post.

It was just one of those days.

Biasalah, they say bila bertunang memang banyak cabaran.

I guess it's normal. Engagement is usually the crucial stage leading to either a happy marriage or a destructive one.

And I must admit that engagement is a very thin line between happiness & destruction of a potential marriage, but I need to emphasize again that whatever happens, it IS for the better.

Both of us learnt from our mistakes, we grow and we think more maturedly, we became stronger and at the end of it all, it makes us treasure each other even more.

Soon after all the unhappy & ugly incidents that happened, you'll know that your chosen partner is really the One. And then when you finally get married, you'll both live with no regrets. :)

I am geared for marriage really. Because I know now that marriage is really not a bed of roses. Yes, and it truly depends on how a couple manage and overcome their problems. It is also a matter of whether you can sincerely and truly accept each other for who they are and also their families.

And based on experience, dating & engaged must NOT be confused. One step ahead of a relationship does NOT mean more roses, more expensive eatouts, etc.

As such, financial security is one of the most important asset of all. From BOTH sides that is.

However it doesn't mean that fiance and me do not go out at all. It's just that we cut down on our usual dates and made it a point that both of us are fully financially-prepared for not only the wedding, but other expenses that will come after that.

We cry hard and we play hard. Okay that sounded very wrong. LOL.

And that explains our movie date last Saturday night. :)

We went to watch Jangan Tegur, the malay horror movie from the director of Jangan Pandang Belakang. And being Achid's FIRST ever malay movie seen in cinema, I must say that it was truly an unforgettable experience. Kan yang kan? Heheh.

And this was also the FIRST movie that he was not caught sleeping during the whole time.

BUT he was certainly caught covering his eyes. LOL

Anyways, it was a really nice movie. Nice as in scary of course. Heheh. I love the sound effects. Very heart-throbing. But then again it somehow reminded me of Exorcist. Darns.

It was nice having a movie date after so long. Alhamdulilah Achid's eye is better than last time, but not sure if he can go back to work again anytime soon. Haish.

Oh well, pushing personal stuff aside.

Work has been really interesting. Finally I can be directly involved in surgery as we were shorthanded. I had the chance to become Dr Anwar's vet nurse and assisted him with the tooth surgery of the bush baby together with Elina.

What's a bush baby you may ask?

Go Wiki!!

The Senegal Bushbaby (Galago senegalensis), also known as the Senegal Galago, the Lesser Galago or the Lesser Bush Baby, is a small, nocturnal primate, a member of the galago family Galagidae.

The name "bush baby" may come either from the animals' cries or from their appearance. They are agile leapers, and run swiftly along branches. They live in Africa south of the Sahara and nearby islands including Zanzibar. They tend to live in dry woodland regions and savannah regions.

They are small primates (130mm and 95-300 grams) with woolly thick fur that ranges from silvery grey to dark brown. They have large eyes, giving them good night vision; strong hind limbs; and long tails, which help them balance. Their ears are made up of four segments that can bend back individually, to aid their hearing when hunting insects at night. Their omnivorous diet is a mixture of insects and other small animals including birds and insects, fruit, seeds, flowers, eggs, nuts, and tree gums.

The particular bush baby has a serious tooth and gum problem, and it was really affecting its whole gum causing it to be detached. Hence we had no choice but to put it down (euthanise).

And sad to say that it is actually one of the rarest animals around. Dr Anwar mentioned that even the carcass of the bush baby might be preserved in the museum.

So sad. It was very very cute though. Haish.

Well, that is all for today.

Thank you and take care all!
